As members of Starbucks Workers United plan to strike at Starbucks stores on Red Cup Day—as they did in 2022—college students are planning their own actions, including boycotts, strikes, and picket lines.
Despite the fact that many loyal Starbucks customers circle the event on their calendars, Workers United broadcasts a different take.
“In organizing meetings, they say, ‘If they can do it, we can do it,’” said Jaz Brisack, an organizer with Workers United who had played a in the Starbucks campaign.
